Skill Connect Assessments create a win-win situation. How? We've engaged industry, education and policy leaders throughout the process to ensure that assessments will be recognized by employers, help instructors validate their programs and provide career-seekers with proof of what they can do.
The Work Force Ready System helps you meet Perkins IV requirements. Developed by SkillsUSA, an industry-driven organization since 1965, Skill Connect Assessments are 100% industry driven and defined. You'll find the following benefits of our assessments:
- Interactive - Animations allow assessment of a broader range of competencies than available paper-based or text-only assessments
- Industry-driven – Developed by industry experts
- Responsive – Real-time assessment capability allows immediate grading and feedback – for students, teachers and administrators - including printing of a certificate for successful scores
- Diverse – Assesses employability and technical skills in 46 unique areas
- Affordable – Designed with budgets of instructional programs and individual career seekers in mind
To maximize the value of the Skill Connect Assessments:
- Use assessments in conjunction with other components of the Work Force Ready System
- Coordinate with State CTE Directors and local instructors to ensure Perkins IV alignment
- Print the certificate when a successful score is earned and take it to potential employers
- Engage community industry leaders in the process
Each Skill Connect Assessment will be cross-walked to the relevant SkillsUSA Technical Standard and STEM and employability standards, where relevant. LearnMate, the assessment system, allows teachers and administrators to generate reports showing these crosswalks, as well as a skill gap analysis for each candidate.
